FAQs
What’s the difference between a Pre-Assessment Form and a Scored Assessment Form?
Pre-Assessment Forms (killer questions) efficiently screen candidates early by using correct/incorrect logic to automatically exclude those who select wrong answers.
Scored Assessment Forms assign points to responses, enabling ranking and evaluation during shortlisting or detailed assessments.
Can I include scoring or pass marks on a Pre-Assessment Form?
Yes, scoring and pass marks can be added if you want to trigger automated status updates, but they’re not essential. Pre-Assessment Forms use correct/incorrect answer logic to automatically reject or progress candidates — this happens even without any scoring or pass mark being set.
Why can’t I add other question types like Text or Rating to my Pre-Assessment Form?
Pre-Assessment Forms are designed to automatically reject candidates based on correct/incorrect answers. Because of this, only Choice questions are supported — they allow you to define right and wrong answers.
Other question types (e.g. Text, Rating, Matrix) are not compatible with this logic and are therefore not available in these forms.
Can I use questions from another form?
Yes, but only if they’ve been added to the Question Bank. To add them to your form, open the form you’re creating and click “Add from Question Bank.”
If the questions aren’t in the Question Bank, you can choose to copy an existing form instead. However, best practice is to build reusable questions in the Question Bank so they’re easy to manage and consistent across multiple forms.
Can I create new questions directly in the form?
Yes. You can build new questions within the form by selecting New Question > Choice, then adding your question text and answer options.
How do I define how many answers a candidate can select?
If you’re allowing multiple answers, use the “Select total options” setting to define how many responses are allowed:
- No limit (default)
- Equal to a specific number
- At most a specific number
Can I preview the form before attaching it to a job?
Yes. When assigning the form to a job, you can use the Preview button to view all questions and instructions before saving.
Can I edit a Pre-Assessment Form after attaching it to a job?
Yes, but be cautious. If the job has already gone live or candidates have started applying, changing the form could affect the fairness and consistency of the process.
Why is the assessment form I have created not showing in the list of assessment forms within the Assessment tab of the job?
The Assessment Form Type you've chosen may be causing your form to not appear in the expected section on the 'Add a Job: Assessment' page.
Ensure that the Assessment Form Type is correctly set to ensure your form appears where it should when adding or editing a job
I'm attempting to copy a question from the question bank into a Pre-Assessment / Killer Question form, but it's not visible. What could be the issue?
When copying questions from the Question Bank, only Multi Choice / Multi Choice (more than one Answer) questions that have indicated correct answers will be shown as options for inclusion in the Pre-Assessment form.
To resolve this, please ensure that you update the question in the question bank by specifying a correct answer.
