Religion Nomenclature for ECNI

For clients with standard reports, the following fields should be added to the standard religion field in Jobtrain:

• I am female and from a Protestant background
• I am male and from a Protestant background
• I am female and from a Roman Catholic background
• I am male and from a Roman Catholic background
• I am male and from neither a Roman Catholic or Protestant background
• I am female and from neither a Roman Catholic or Protestant background

For clients with the Advanced Insights report builder, as sex or gender can be derived separately and merged into the report as required, then the options to be added to the standard religion field in Jobtrain are:

• I am from a Protestant background
• I am from a Roman Catholic background
• I am from neither a Roman Catholic or Protestant background

NB. 1: In all cases 'Prefer not to say' must remain and remain unchanged in terms of its letter placement.

NB. 2: In both cases it is the client's choice if they want to then include the other original options, such as Muslim, Sikh etc. This may depend on the client being located only in Northern Ireland, or other territories as well. If the latter, this may be a suitable list of options to satisfy the ECNI and other territories:

• I am from a Protestant background
• I am from a Roman Catholic background
• I am from neither a Roman Catholic nor Protestant background, I am Muslim
• I am from neither a Roman Catholic nor Protestant background, I am Sikh
• I am from neither a Roman Catholic nor Protestant background, I am Hindu
• I am from neither a Roman Catholic nor Protestant background, I am Buddhist (and so on as required)
