'Hide Attention Grabber' configuration guide
The ‘Hide Attention Grabber’ feature introduces a configuration option to control the visibility of the Social Media Attention Grabber field in the Add a Job advert process.
This feature allows clients to hide or display the Social Media Attention Grabber section, depending on their needs.
Configuration steps1. Go to ATS Control > Client > Client Config to create a new configuration variable.
- Label for Config Variable: Hide Attention Grabber
- Configuration Name: config-add-job-hide-attention-grabber
- Options: true / false
- Default Setting: unconfigured / false (Social Media Attention Grabber will be visible by default)
2. Behaviour Based on Configuration Setting
- When config-add-job-hide-attention-grabber = true
The Social Media Attention Grabber section, including its heading, input box, and word count, will be hidden on the Advert tab during the job creation process.- Result: The "Upload a Document" content section will move up and display directly below the last "Advert Copy" box(es).
- When config-add-job-hide-attention-grabber = false (default)
The Social Media Attention Grabber section will display on the advert page as usual, retaining its original functionality and position.
- Social Media Feeds:
If the config-add-job-hide-attention-grabber is set to true, the Social Media Attention Grabber content will not display in social feeds, resulting in a blank or null value in these fields. This may impact feeds depending on how they are parsed externally. - NHS Jobs Integration:
The Social Media Attention Grabber content also merges into NHS Jobs. When set to true, the attention grabber content will be blank on the Post to NHS Jobs page. - Copy Job Process:
No changes are required for the copy job process, as the Social Media Attention Grabber content will remain non-functional if hidden. Existing jobs with attention grabber content will retain null values if duplicated, having no effect on job copying or replication. - Further use cases:
If additional use cases are identified for the Social Media Attention Grabber configuration, these will be documented for future reference. Please inform the team if any scenarios require additional adjustments or documentation.
This configuration provides flexibility for clients who do not use the Social Media Attention Grabber feature, allowing them to streamline their job advert process by hiding this component as needed. Ensure that deployment adheres to the naming convention and configuration activation as per the guidelines above.
