Add Equal Opportunities Questions to Direct Apply.

 I want to:

• Understand what the Equal Opps tab does on the Direct Apply application form
• Add standard or custom equal opportunities questions
• Know which question types Indeed supports

Before you start

You need access to the Direct Apply Application Form setting on your security role. See step 2 of Set up and manage Indeed Direct Apply if this isn't enabled yet.

1. Go to Settings > Application Forms > Direct Apply Application Form
2. Select the Direct Apply Equal Opps tab
3. Enable the standard questions you want to ask, or add custom fields from the Question Bank

Any questions you enable here appear to every candidate who applies via Direct Apply.

Supported question types:

• Text
• Multi-choice (one answer)
• Multi-choice (more than one answer)
• Date

If you don't enable any questions, candidates applying via Indeed Direct Apply are not asked to complete this information.

Where the responses appear

Candidate responses save against the application form's Equal Opps section.

Depending on your configuration, you'll find this in the More menu or the Application Form menu on the candidate's record. Only users with Equal Opps access, controlled through security roles, can view the actual responses.

FAQs

Are equal opportunities questions mandatory for candidates? This is configurable in the Direct Apply application form. If you don't want to capture this information, leave the Equal Opps section of the form empty.

Some Direct Apply candidates are missing equal opps data, why? The Direct Apply Equal Opps section was introduced in October 2023. Candidates who applied before this date won't have this information recorded.

Do equal opps answers carry over to a second stage application? Yes, if both the Direct Apply and second stage forms include the standard equal opportunities questions, the candidate's original answers are filled in automatically.

Custom fields are not carried over and need completing again.
